I just objected this proposal. If “arts and culture”, “boldly innovative”, “vibrant and youthful” want to reflect the vision for Reading, the Council should invest in local artists instead of printing those messages in a visually intrusive board, in a conservation area! See thread for link to PA.

Exceeded expectations! I found inspiring artwork and inspiring people in The Keep exhibition at 571 Oxford Road. This place deserves to become a thriving centre for contemporary art and a cultural hub for Reading. Photo: artists Susanne Clausen & Guler Ates - OpenHand OpenSpace. fivesevenone.org

At Reading Pride the Green Party ran a poll to see what people think about the idea of a new data centre. When we ran out of balls people started voting with sweeties. As you can see the methods used surpassed the quality standards of “JL partners”. Have your say: www.tvpdc.co.uk/have-your-say
What a gay day! 🌞 We are here and we’re queer We are green, are you keen?
Who else is coming to join the party? (Pun intended)
Last Saturday and today I held surgeries in the Farmers Market and Bike Hub. I met wonderful people worried about the state of town centre and about social justice. I’m so grateful you trusted me and I’ll work hard to not let you down!
Sanctuary Cafe is open! I’ve been coming to RISC since I moved to Reading 6 years ago, and I’m so happy the cafe is back with wonderful people running it. Hearing the stories of everyone at RSG was deeply moving, and I’m relieved to be part of a party whose political choices reflect that compassion

Ask me how I defend good quality homes at Committee meetings, just like I promised you on your door step. -From 30th June-
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if kids could play in their street every day and not just once a year? Thank you BSANA for organising this street party! It’s always a pleasure to work with such a good bunch of people and to get to know new neighbours.
4 bags of rubbish 1 blister on my thumb Keep Reading Tidy use the bin or I’ll tell your mum
Today it’s exactly two months since I became a Councillor. People have contacted me from day 1, some asking me to pick up cases that were abandoned years ago and some with new cases. So far, I have raised 32 cases to the council, successfully solved 4, helped a community space reopen and gave hope!
The Green Party is currently the only party with a policy that would freeze your rent. How crazy is that?
Rent controls would save households up to £2,400 a year and the Government £2 billion a year. It's a no-brainer. But only the Green Party has a policy to introduce them.
What a great initiative!! Today I went to the Young Business Showcase. It’s great to see so many teenagers being creative and developing business ideas. Well done to all the parents/teachers who encourage and inspire them. My partner got a bubble tea and here she’s modelling like a true influencer.
@mattrodda.bsky.social l trust you will support the 7th Carbon Budget tonight and push for faster action. The National Emergency Briefing that you must have watched was clear on the climate urgency and the Lords are in no position to deny or dismiss scientific evidence.
Great news! The Reading Biscuit Factory had their licence reissued. It was an honour to have participated as a new councillor giving my representation in support of this amazing community space. Can’t wait to see what’s on next week!
I attempted to be productive and litter-pick and door-knock at the same time. Do not recommend. Especially if it rains and your bag keeps sliding off your shoulder. Sorry to everyone that stayed to chat while I was holding a massive rubbish bag!
It was an honour to have been invited by the Hongkonger community to the Tiananmen Massacre 37th Anniversary Memorial. The courage shown by citizens who peacefully called for freedom continues to resonate. Taking inspiration from what Chow Hang-Tung said, “we will continue to speak what we must”.
Again this year the Council’s Annual General Meeting used tax payer’s money to pay for food and booze for councillors and guests. None of the 11 Green councillors wanted to take part in this so we asked the Council to donate our part. We had dinner elsewhere and paid with our own money, not yours.
23/5/26 I went to welcome an Abbey resident who had been kidnapped by a foreign state in international waters while attempting to deliver aid. www.readingchronicle.co.uk/news/2615826...
13/5/26 First time litter picking as a Councillor: it felt the same. I met neighbours that I had never seen before and I made friends with a dog. Thank you BSANA (ny neighborhood association) and Keep Reading Tidy for organising! keepreadingtidy.co.uk/events
