There are a bunch of people who met and started playing and working together because of Dungeon Master. Those friendships bled into all of our careers. Some folks are playing stadiums. Some are making award winning games. Some of us got the green light to teach students how to run Dungeon Master. 🤷🏾
Dungeon Master was a weekly stage show where you brought a character. If chosen you went on an adventure with a party in front of a live audience. It had seasons. It was helmed for a long time by @eatenbypotchky.bsky.social. Bridget and Bill Paley friends of the original creator kept it alive.
LA's Nerd/Goth/ theater scene is extremely influential to APs. I know because I was there 8 billion years ago and it is not just *my* origin story but the story of some of your favorite AP performers. Here how many people can you spot in this Library Bards vid? This is bang on. I'd like to continue to point out that "Dungeon Master" a live improvisational stage show was created by a Black man named Bruce A. Young in Chicago in 1983. He brought it to LA where it continued to be performed well into 2017. What's important is who was in the audience and cast.
