#1001albums: Day 214: The Byrds: Mr Tambourine Man: 1965. The Byrds debut album opens with probably their best-known track and establishes their jangly 12-string sound with beautifully constructed harmonies, they did love to cover Dylan, four of his songs on this album.

#1001albums: Day 214: Deep Purple: Machine Head: 1972. Best Deep Purple album ever?... Maybe.... My personal preference is for In Rock, but both represent the band at their creative best and this MH has some real classics. Side 2 is especially good. 1/2
