Come and dance with me, I'd like that very much *holds hand out for you*
Where are the children trump (at the urging of Stephen Miller) kidnapped to punish their families for legally requesting asylum during his first term?
New window means no blinds for a few days. Great, I thought, it's dark till 8am, I'll sleep okay. Didn't bank on this m'fucking streetlamp right in my face though, did I?
I don't ask for much, nothing actually, but that doesn't mean I don't like it when it happens.
It's amazing how exhausting it is just lying around all day eating cupcakes and watching old movies.
My friend popped by with her signature red velvet cupcakes to help cheer me up, except she’d turned them blue to celebrate the midterms. A little sweet solidarity with America never tasted so good. 💙🧁
I'm watching this right now and I stand by this post 100%. Great movie though.
The part in Brief Encounter where Laura's husband pats her on the shoulder and says, 'Hurry up with all this beautifying, I want my dinner,' makes me root for her to have her hole filled by Dr Alec in ways rarely depicted in even the most modern of movies.
Thank you, lovely ngl person, for all the music suggestions. I'm checking them out right now. I am touched by the kindness people have shown me this week. Music is the best form of that. I appreciate you, whoever you are 🫶
The doctor has told me to rest for a few days. I am realising, with alarming clarity, I am shit at doing nothing.
Cookery show: "These figs are so tender they're on the verge of collapse." I hear ya, figs, I hear ya.
I have never seen these! The last one is brilliant.
Outtakes from SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991)
The only good thing about being ill is the flowers from friends.
I'm currently having my bedroom window replaced. The old one blew out in the last storm. The fitter is lovely and even gave my doors a spray of special lubricant because he noticed they were creaking badly. I've asked him if he can spray some on my joints.
Today marks the anniversary of my dad’s death. My big sister, normally the stoic, unemotional one, is drunk on holiday in Spain and sent me a wine-soaked, soppy, nostalgic message right at the time he died...
I've not posted clouds this week cause I've been recovering from pneumonia like some feeble Victorian orphan. I'm over the worst & feeling stronger. On Monday the doc said my lung x-ray looked like fluffy white clouds and I thought, 'if I die, at least I'll die happy'. But I didn't, so there you go.
If you are feeling even just the tiniest bit sad today, I want you to know that my boobs look absolutely terrific in this sweater.
I met Jude today. I've missed her. She has fallen in love and is positively glowing from the inside out. She deserves all the happies and I shall now live vicariously through her.
The lunch hall staff have been promoting healthy eating all this week. Today's assembly is showing up on the digital timetable as 'Fruity Ass'.
“But Toad,” said Frog, “I will be lonely until then.”
I like to imagine you'd give me a little kiss on my forehead if you were here.
I'm about to have my bloods taken at the hospital, but I just drank a large gingerbread latte, and I reckon it contained my entire annual recommended intake of sugar. The lab tech’s going to have to fight the urge to drizzle it over ice cream.
This is where we went to get concert tickets in the 80's and 90's. I skived school and queued outside for hours in the pouring rain to get a ticket to see The Cult in 1987.
