Here for anything public libraries, early literacy, local government & opportunities-for-young-people related. Sticks googly eyes on things 👀 Loves a cheeseboard. 🧀 She/her.
Might visit to honour my multiple Irish great and great great grandmothers. None of whom left any useful records for me to find out anything about them.

Great visit to the newly refurbished Carlisle Library for the @librariesconnected.org.uk North West meeting today. So great to see such a large space dedicated to children and families. ❤️ ( @librariesrising.bsky.social )

Hashtag St. Annes Problems. (OK, I needed a cake, right and also walked three miles to justify it...)
Shrub in Chester is hands down some of the best food I've ever eaten. Will never stop recommending.
Highlight of my week. Seeing a seagull smiling (I SWEAR it was smiling) upon discovering a full custard slice in the street. Also, hard relate.

Doughnut*, tiny bird, art, elk, books, bagel. *The actual world's best doughnuts imo. #Preston #Lancashire
When it's so humid the mist erases the tower, and it feels like you're walking through rain that's been suspended in time. 🥵 #Blackpool
🥳 We are delighted to announce that the brand new Waterstones #ChildrensLaureate 2026-2028 is the marvellous @lawrencepatrice.bsky.social We're so excited that Patrice is taking on the role and love that she will be focusing on how stories can help to build communities. #NationalYearOfReading2026
Lovely to see members in person today at our @librariesrising.bsky.social North West meeting at Stockroom in Stockport. 💛 PS. If you want to see a library reimagined for the 21st century done well, it's a must visit. (Couldn't get many photos because it was FULL of people! )
Interesting to learn about free licensing arrangements in the 1860s, which possibly explains how/why my great great great grandfather was fined multiple times for Sunday trading. The problem with having incredibly ordinary ancestors is that the only extra record of them is when they broke the law 🤷🏼♀️

New research from @literacy-trust.bsky.social shows a modest upturn in children’s reading enjoyment & daily reading, but reading enjoyment levels are still low and the inequality gap is widening. Libraries are a key part of inspiring a love of reading! #GoAllIn2026 with #libraries
National Literacy Trust reading for pleasure research 2026 | National Literacy Trust

Joyful. I read it in one sitting. I worked for six years at the library in the very same little town. Hard relate. #lovelibraries #lovebookshops #booksky

Emergency Rhyme Time cover at #Layton Library. Not what I was expecting to be doing today, and couldn't believe I still had my 2016 song list from Lytham to hand... It might have been a while but it was great fun to get stuck in 😊 #LoveLibraries
Finally got round to watching #Andor. Space-Cleveleys is surreal.
