Today I joined Barnard Elementary students, staff, and families in celebrating the its beautiful new addition in Ward 4 -- it's a space as vibrant as the bright scholars who fill its halls. Thank you to DCPS and DGS staff and the Barnard community for making this inclusive space a reality! 🐻

MPD 4D is currently on the scene after a shooting involving two adult victims in the 7400 block of Georgia Ave NW. Both victims are conscious and have been transported by Fire and EMS to receive treatment. This is an active investigation and there will be police presence there for some time.

This overdue contract will ensure "DC's Bravest" receive the critical pay increases they've waited years for, while prices have gone up and affordability has become more urgent. Today the Council adopted my amendment to the FY27 BSA to ensure that 12 weeks of caregiving leave and medical leave are fully restored in 2030. Paid leave is a lifeline for families and helps small businesses remain competitive – that’s why I will always be a champion for #paidfamilyleave.
