Catching up with my faves at the Ocean Hill Family Day! I loved catching up with the tenant association and residents. We also dropped off some backpacks for the kiddos ahead of the back to school season.
Thank you @hellgatenyc.com & @jessyedwards.bsky.social for covering the ICE surge in Bushwick and across New York City. ICE is increasing abductions of our neighbors. But Bushwick is standing up and defending our community against ICE’s terror.

🎉Congratulations to @eastnewyorkclt.bsky.social on their purchase of 161 Jamaica Ave! Rents are rising and pushing people out of their homes; and the few continue to profit off the many. Now more than ever, we need dedicated local organizing spaces to help foster our movements.

It’s the perfect cloudy day to call on @governor.ny.gov to sign the SUNNY Act into law. We're being hit by climate disasters & energy bills. SUNNY lets us plug in solar panels and save! ❌Rooftop needed ❌Landlord approval ❌Red tape ✅Energy & savings Let's get it done!
Why is Con Ed standing in the way of a better energy grid and lower utility bills? Record heat means more energy demand and unfortunately, higher Con Ed bills. Battery systems can help! CM Jim Gennaro & I are asking ConEd to drop the barrier to a more affordable energy future.
The Comptroller is correct: We must use city owned land to lead the way. I passed Local Law 99 to add more solar panels on city owned property. Now we must pass Intro 359 to create more battery energy storage systems on city property. Welcome to the coalition @nyccomptroller.bsky.social!
July’s extreme heat showed how vulnerable 🪫 NYC’s power grid has become, increasing the risk of outages and higher energy costs. During back-to-back heatwaves, Con Edison reported more than 80,000 outages across the five boroughs during a two-day period.

Broadway Junction is getting a $400M accessibility upgrade. But East New York isn’t seeing the jobs that should come with it. Only 13 of 170 project workers are local. Today we rallied because our community deserves better than that. This investment should create jobs for the junction!
