Mike Elias when asked whether he plans to address Orioles before Tuesday's game and how he thinks this Trade Deadline (particularly the Adley Rutschman deal) will affect clubhouse morale:
"I don't know whether I'm going to address the team formally. I must say, this is a real consuming event, the Trade Deadline, been at it for several days straight. I'm a little tired, kind of coming up for air. I haven't thought or talked to Alby about that particular topic yet.
"I'm very much around the team and like to talk to our players and hear what's on their minds. There's always reactions in a clubhouse after a Trade Deadline, in both directions. It's part of the business and really what matters is the players that are out on the field, the talent that's out on the field and the guys that are in that room at the same time.
"I think everybody will process this, and baseball has its comings and going, and this is a part of it. But we've got a good group, we've got a good manager, a good coaching staff that will keep the guys focused.
"It was a big deal for all of us, and it will take some time for everybody's emotions to settle. But we've got baseball to play, and we know we've got some guys that can win games."
