Bishop Hugh visited St James' Church in West Malvern this morning for their patronal festival. He blessed the church's orchard and plans for a new 'pilgrim path' and pond. The church runs 'Orchard Church' a New Worshipping Community with activities and worship held outside whatever the weather!

Congratulations to Chris Smith who was licensed by Bishop Martin as Curate in Charge of St Mark's Church in Pensnett yesterday in a joyful service! It was great to have students from St Mark's CE Primary lead one of the songs and Chris was welcomed by different members of the community.

Yesterday at General Synod in York, representatives from our diocese led evening prayer, together with a visiting choir from York. Worship is led by each diocese in turn, alphabetically, so we are always involved in the last group of sessions. Archbishop Sarah gave the final blessing.

Give thanks for all our churches working ecumenically. Help us to celebrate all that we have in common and disagree well. We know that we can achieve much more by working in partnership than we can ever do on our own 🙏
