Awe cute. Each lil whisker has it's own dedicated lil muscle. Mammals are really interesting.

Artist, scientist, wanderer. Grasping at dreams I refuse to abandon. Blindly pursuing classical animation without much in the way of rigid instruction or guidance. Sooner or later, it's all going to work out.
It's a 45 but some of the tracks are still awesome at 33 1/3. This is such a good soundtrack. My trophy for finally beating the game.
Continuing skeletal studies of chiroptera. Not scaled right, but I don't want to spend all day googling reference photos and never draw anything. Thought I'd share.
I need to mine through all the crap on my desk and get back to animating and game design today. A rough summer for art, but here's some stuff I drew in the hotel lobby. (Ink and watercolor on toned paper.) I know it isn't much, but I was happy while drawing it.
I think maybe I was not conditioned well enough for that hike. Came home inspired and ready to draw, then knocked out asleep for half the afternoon.
Back to comparative anatomy. It's interesting that chiroptera (bats) are more closely related to horses than rodents. And it makes sense since horses are unguligrade and chiroptera wings spread out from the metacarpal bones. Animationwise, both glide on their fingertips! Time to draw skeletons.
5.5 mile walk/hike today in the woods around the neighborhood. Pretty sure I heard a little rattlesnake off the trail at one point. It's hot.
I kind feel pretentious using the word "Chiroptera" instead of just calling them bats. But I also feel like I'm a steampunk scholar so I'm gonna keep saying it that way.
If we find alien life and their "brains" embody the same physiological stucture that give rise to our psychology, then the question would be, "what physical principles give rise to our common emotions?" Not a question I will ever have a chance to encounter. Nonetheless, an intriguing diversion.
After four days of creature design bootcamp, I am home and calling my cats "mammal face."
Somewhere there is a planet with a thick atmosphere and high incident proton radiation. Muon storms are created in the upper atmosphere. Muons reach the surface, generating massive electron flux as they decay. Electricity streams across the surface and living beings feed on it.
OMFG i just had an huge revelation about echolocatioj and bat colonies! I cant even explain it here but it blew my mind.
Just passed a commercial vacuuming robot and registered it as a "droid." I kinda get why Obi Wan didn't recognize R2 in A New Hope now. I also tend to see 3PO as a walking LLM now and I'm trying not to do that.
I'm not convinced I'm awake anymore. Why do all the same villains keep showing up in my view? Before the current AI book purge, it was businesses shredding decades of research reports to make space for office chair storage.
Somebody suggested I get back into my engineering field. I'm not really interested in that grind anymore, but it would be interesting to see everybody's faces if I were to breeze back in as a transitioned woman and bail them out of whatever mess they fumbled into.
Found some old writings from two years ago when I first realized I was trans. I almost cry reading the beauty and fear and wonder that I expressed, especially now that I know I'm still here today.
Oh cool, Professor Challenger is in the public domain. I know six cartoon cats that can start fucking with him now.
We should all spend more time considering how awesome and spectacular clouds are.
And by the way, I'm going to build a handheld device to play my game once it's done. Not to sell, just to preserve it physically. And I'm going to connect it to the muon detector so the player's radiation exposure affects the in-game physics system. Yes, this is wasteful.
Morning warm up sketching. I need to draw when I'm rested more.
Every since I cut back my caffeine to one cup of coffee a day and started supplementing my iron deficiency, my ability to handle depression and doom thoughts improved dramatically. Just putting that out in case it helps somebody else.
Iron deficiency is apparently from caffeine. Too much caffeine ruins my health and dialing back gives me so much energy. Wish I had figured this out ten years ago. My mental health is so much better these last few days.
Wait. The retro consoles Jurassic Park games are all awesome? I missed them the SNES and NES when I was younger... but these are sensational!
I need to stop comparing my game (and art) to all the fantastic games out there as thiugh I were competing with them. Somewhere early in life I was taught to assume I never measure up or belong anywhere.
Lol. Nobody is going to buy or play my game. I'm still funding it anyway. I'm enjoying making it.
Good progress on the game design sometimes mean rralizing this whole damn approach doesn't work. Need to step back an redesign the mechanics so I can slow the game down and draw the player more deeply into the environment. Halloween is about being in the vibe.
What if we never got actual data about ghosts and hauntings because every paranormal investigator was a complete fraud? I just want to retire into being a paranormal researcher, but for real. Not a celebrity or anything. Daydreaming...
So apparently I've had an iron deficiency for ... I guess years? This week I started supplementing iron and paying attention and now I have tremendous energy. 5.75 mile walk/hike in the hills this morning and I'm still up doing things. Take care of your health!
Shit. I just realized that, while I can compose rock/metal for the soundtrack, I am going to need a real band to play the songs for the actual recordings. I better get working on that too.
