Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur.bsky.social · 19h agoSusan Collins is a NO on Todd Blanche for AG: “While I believe Mr. Blanche is a capable lawyer, the Department of Justice has become increasingly political.” Unlikely to change the outcome; he can lose two Rs and get confirmed. Collins voted YES on Blanche as Deputy AG last year.

Vintage Susan Collins. You've got a guy who very clearly has no business in the role Trump has tapped him for -- like Kavanaugh, like RFK Jr -- and she designs a fake "due diligence" process that hinges (pretends to) on narrow, irrelevant questions. Is anyone still fooled by this junk? #MEpolitics

Least important thing going on here but worth noting that in June, three Maine profs -- all men! -- told outlets abortion wouldn't be an issue in ME-SEN. A fourth told PPH it *would* be an issue but they buried his comment in the article's 23rd graf. (Strikethru text below is ours.) #MEpolitics
By the time early voting starts in October, every adult Mainer needs to know Susan Collins votes with Trump 95% of the time. And if Maine reporters and news outlets aren't going to shine a light on this salient fact, folks will have to educate neighbors, family and friends themselves. #MEpolitics
It's one thing to say you don't regret voting for Kavanaugh as Susan Collins did in June. Can argue that you made the best decision possible w/ the info available. But it's a whole other thing to say you'd vote for him AGAIN. That's an endorsement of his impact on the court and country. #MEpolitics

Susan Collins screwed over the northern, rural part of Maine by helping push thru Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. It was a betrayal of her hometown and all the rural Maine towns like it. Jackson, aligned groups and folks on the grouns need to make sure every Maine voter understands this. #MEpolitics
