Tomorrow we’re celebrating the one and only Cardi B. Afro-Caribbean. Latina. Bisexual. Unfiltered. Never afraid to speak truth to power. We love seeing a star use her platform to say what others are too scared to say. Happy Birthday, Cardi. OKURRRR! 💅🏽

Happy Birthday Cardi B

Here are some of our favorite Cardi momentsWhen you hold power and authority, use it with kindness and respect. Never abuse it ... because not everyone will endure your arrogance in silence. Treat others exactly like you demand to be treated. Atlanta ... I'll see you soon.A screenshot of a Twitter exchange. Cardi B's tweet criticizes Tomi Lahren: "You're so blinded with racism that you don't even realize the decisions the president you root for is destroying the country you claim to love so much .You are a perfect example on no matter how educated or smart you think you are you still a SHEEP!"Screenshot of a tweet by Cardi B stating, "I will never turn republican lol"

Black superheroes embody the strength and power in all of us. And when people try to dismiss that representation as “woke,” it’s worth remembering: Black identity and the realities of race have been part of these characters’ stories from the beginning. Who is your favorite Superhero?

“They will come for you.” When corporations and powerful institutions organize to punish people for speaking truth to power, it sends a message: Stay quiet, or you could be next. That’s why we organize. Not just when it comes for us, but before.

“Our son’s life does not matter to those who hold positions that are supposed to serve and protect the public.” Those are the words of Nolan Wells’ mother. We demand justice for Nolan Wells and all the other Black youth whose deaths our justice system has failed.

On Dolly Parton Day, we remember a woman who didn’t just say Black lives mattered. She showed it. From supporting Black artists and BLM to investing royalties in Black Nashville and putting millions of free books in kids’ hands, Dolly put compassion into action.

Trump wants to erase millions of us from the 2030 Census. His new proposal would exclude non-citizens and other minorities from the population count required by the Constitution. Tell the Census Bureau: Every person counts, no exceptions. Here: https://bit.ly/4y2YroR

Hey, @bigdoordash.bsky.social. We fixed it. A lukewarm admission and a forced settlement barely begin to make things right for all the app-based workers you’ve exploited. So, when can we expect a settlement for all dashers who haven’t received a fair wage?

Converse. Target. Burberry. Gucci. Prada. Different companies. Same story: racist ads and products, public backlash, then an apology. How does this keep happening? When Black voices aren’t in the room, companies miss what should’ve been obvious.

AI is opening Pandora’s box. Black communities already face discrimination in hiring, housing, healthcare, policing, and access to opportunity. AI can automate those same biases and spread them faster, farther, with less accountability. We need stronger rules and real oversight.

On September 15, 1963, white supremacists bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, killing four Black girls. They targeted a church that had become a center of the Civil Rights Movement. Honor their lives by continuing to fight. Until Justice is Real.

In a win for voters, the Supreme Court has rejected Trump’s attempt to reinstate restrictions on mail voting ahead of November’s midterm elections. For generations, Black communities have fought to expand voting access. Court rulings matter, but people have always driven progress.

Bribery? Is that where we are? Trump promised to give Americans $5k if the GOP wins the upcoming midterm elections. This is just another one of his empty promises while he fails to make groceries affordable, lower gas prices, and improve our healthcare. It’s a desperate attempt to get votes.

Workers fought for the rights we have today. Black workers have always been central to that fight. From building this country through forced labor to organizing for fair pay, safety, and dignity. This Labor Day, we honor their legacy by continuing the fight for economic justice.

They call it “budget cuts.” We call it what it is: another attack on Black history. Across the country, Black Studies are being cut, merged, and pushed aside as Trump and Republicans wage a broader war on how race and history are taught. We won’t let them erase it.
