By the number of edits made, CoMaps was the 15th most used #OpenStreetMap editor in June. It might not sound like a lot, but makes us the #1 OSM editor that is not only an editor but a full map/nav app! We always want to be a good citizen of the larger OSM ecosystem & you're all helping with that

For the folks who get CoMaps from the Google Play store: The review process took "a bit" longer this time around - but version 2026.05.06 is finally out. Give the "Check for update" button in the map downloader a go to get the map files with OSM data from May 10!

Release 2026.05.06 is out on Codeberg, F-Droid, iOS, and soon on Google Play and brings a big new feature: From this version onward, you updating the map files of CoMaps is not tied to updating the app any longer, it means we can bring you fresh maps more often. To make sure the iOS version of CoMaps does not fall too much behind the Android version, we need more iOS contributors. Which is why we'd love to onboard more iOS devs! If you're interested in contributing on that front we're always eager to help people get started: codeberg.org/comaps/comap...

Did you know that you can use CoMaps to explore the world or plan your next trip on a bigger screen if you have a device with Samsung DeX? Allows you to turn your phone into a desktop: browse maps, discover interesting places, & plan future road trips with a full-screen setup & split-screen support.

For fast and reliable map downloads, we need servers in many different locations. Some servers are rented, but some of them are also hardware donations! A big thanks go to Mathias Klein as well as the French OpenStreetMap chapter, providing us server capacities in Germany and France respectively!
