I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sir Billy Boston. Sir Billy’s name was synonymous with the sport of rugby league and he was a true legend of the game.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of Lord Peter Snape. Serving as MP for West Bromwich from 1974 to 2001, he was a great parliamentarian whose experience, wit and commitment to public service earned him respect across both Houses.

Happy Yorkshire Day. Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Minden, commemorated by Yorkshire regiments since 1759. Yorkshire is proudly represented by 54 constituencies in the House of Commons.
