Garlic Chives (Allium tuberosum-foreground) and Perilla (P. frutescens-background) both growing out of a sidewalk in Grays Ferry. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #GarlicChives
Eastern Baccharis (Baccharis halimifolia) growing out of a stoop, shot yesterday in Grays Ferry.
Some of the Petunia spillover from his deck, shot yesterday. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #RebelPlants #Petunias
I also met the guy whose deck scattered the Petunias of the second Grays Ferry outbreak I've found. He confirmed that this is a Cockscomb (Celosia) & not some fancy Pigweed (Amaranth). It also resulted from his deck's seed spillage. bsky.app/profile/conc...
These #Pansies (Viola x wittrockiana) in East Passyunk Crossing are essentially on the way to Grays Ferry, elsewhere in EPC or anywhere else in that direction, so I end up shooting them often. I got some good shots yesterday. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #GardenPlantsGoneWild
Silver Cockscomb (Celosia argentea) shot this morning in East Passyunk Crossing. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #Celosia #Cockscomb
I'd be happy to have a Common #Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) this healthy pop up in one of my containers. They are a long-established exotic invasive, no doubt carried here as a food source. I shot this one in East Passyunk Crossing this morning. #Succulents #EdiblePlants #Weeds #UrbanWeeds
Trumpet Creeper (Campsis radicans) as a sidewalk crackweed in the Newbold/Point Breeze area.
I stumbled upon this Marigold (Tagetes patula) spot in East Passyunk again. I assume this was seeded from the one there last year, since I believe Marigolds are true annuals.
Marigold (Tagetes patula) shot last September. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #GardenPlantsGoneWild
Clematis (prob. C. terniflora) shot this morning in Grays Ferry.
#Basil (Ocimum basilicum) shot this morning in Grays Ferry. #Pavementplants #GardenPlantsGoneWild #Gardening

It was a good morning for meeting the residents of homes I'd been photographing in front or back of. I met the nice lady who lives behind this flower bed overflow. She told me that this was Snow-in-Summer, which was my primary guess, Cerastium tomentosum.
Some fancy Blackeyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta), Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima) & what I think is an ornamental Cerastium, shot yesterday in Grays Ferry. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #GardenPlantsGoneWild
Field #Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) shot this morning north of Gray's Ferry Avenue, in the area between Forgotten Bottom & Devil's Pocket. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #Wildflowers #FieldBindweed
Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) as a street weed, shot in Gray's Ferry on June 16th. The plant was smushed by a parking car early last month. #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #Cornflower #BachelorsButtons
People get all riled up & offended when you call their favorite wildflowers weeds, but there are many definitions of the word weed. People will ask "Is it a weed or a wildflower" but those aren't mutually exclusive terms by any standards. Asiatic dayflower is a weed by many standards, however.
I love these so much and get riled when people call them weeds. I give them a whole pot to themselves and let them volunteer in various beds and potted plants.

Waterstruik dus!
I spotted this on a pavement near my house and initially thought it was Spotted Spurge, Euphorbia maculata, a plant which I have been keeping my eye out for. However, I now think it might be E. serpens. If so, that's interesting, as there are only a handful of UK records. bsbi.org/maps/?taxoni...
