Caught my nephew running the tap while he was drinking a glass of water. I broke his phone as a lesson to not waste the water that’s needed for Data Centres. It doesn’t matter if it was his Mam’s phone. Lessons were learned.

Uisce Éireann is "urgently calling" on the public not to use the garden hose this weekend, and for as long as the hot weather continues, as drinking water usage remains "exceptionally high".

Very pleased that my new article '“An Entire Sacred Effort”: Hymnody and Mythopoetics in John Williams’s Score for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (2012)' is published in the Journal of the Society for American Music. doi.org/10.1017/S175... Finally managing to share some PhD material with the world :)

The roundtable of our Music and Media conference at the Irish Film Institute. Here’s me and Dr Laura Anderson talking to Stephen Rennicks and Natasa Paulberg about composing for film, tv, and documentaries, in front of a packed crowd of academics and the general public. @ucddublin.bsky.social

Was very happy when I was asked to review the documentary "Music by John Williams" for the European Journal of American Culture. It's now been published, just as I begin to write my review of the Williams biography too. All very on brand for me! Check the review out here: doi.org/10.1386/ejac...

Talking all things E.T. last night to introduce the National Symphony Orchestra’s performance of the film score live in concert. Was wonderful to speak to such an enthusiastic crowd and detail the little Easter eggs and wonderful themes in Williams’s fantastic score.

Delighted to see the Berlin Phil concert of Williams’s music (TWICE) last weekend! Stéphane Denève was a wonder as conductor & the Phil were phenomenal. Denève gave his flowers to Williams, leaving them on the score on the podium. A class act 🥲
