So, I've been working for a little bit today! But, less than expected, because I'm realizing that I think my wrist is still kinda messed up
And that got me thinking about my future. Now that my head's in a better place after a week and a half of recovery (and finding joy in some different ways), I think I've come to a conclusion for myself

I think, honestly, it may be time for me to start considering a different career path, because even beyond the fear of pushing my wrist too hard, I'm realizing that I just cannot keep this up, mentally or physically

I've "quit" doing commissions more than a few times now, but this try felt a lot different, and I'm honestly a little upset and guilty that this feels like the only proper path. But I think it's literally just not in the cards for me to be a commission artist anymore. I currently have the means to keep living at a very base level, and I'm realizing that I don't need this to be a full-time job, especially not at the expense of my happiness or physical health, I'm disabled enough already haha

So! I think I'm going to start looking into other options. Preferably, I think I'd really like to become a VTuber, but honestly, I may just need to get a physical job that doesn't require me to exert myself in the ways being a commission artist does, just because more than anything, I'd like to preserve my body and ✨ Creative Soul ✨, both of which I've become increasingly concerned about for awhile now

To those who still have outstanding commissions with me: I will be trying to complete them or refund them!
Don't expect these things to happen too quickly, for reasons I've already explained, but I do want to at least give these current products closure in some way! That's the absolute least I can do

If you feel like helping me with refund costs, I am still willing to take sponsored art "commissions", since I want to get back into the habit of doing stuff for myself again, but there's no pressure! I feel confident in my ability to finish what I currently owe, and make up the money for anything I can't myself

As it stands right now, I think this is just the best option for me, and will hopefully allow me a little breathing room in terms of actually getting stuff done and feeling better about art moving forwards

I thank everyone here, not just people who have given me money in the past, for the support you've shown me and my work for so long, and sticking with me through all the bouts of neuroticism and autism I am often prone to, ehe. You've been (and I think will continue to be) a great community to work with and talk to, and I'll still try to keep posting in here as I have things to show for it!
For now though, I'm going to finish up what work I've started today and then take another nice little break for a few days 💙

Reading dark and fucked up fiction with bad and evil things in it isn't "unethical," nor are books which contain no such dark themes more "ethical" in nature. Reading a fucked up book cannot make you evil, but becoming convinced that anyone who reads a fucked up book is somehow tainted, less trustworthy or dangerous will make you vulnerable to doing evil shit VERY quickly.
