Crazy this must be said: The Justice Department can't be 'weaponized' because it's already a weapon. It's a weapon the people wield against crime. That is how it was conceived, what it did (mostly) for its entire history, and what it needs to do now. The only argument is who gets aimed at.

The quality of insight, humor, and prose on posts in my feed jumps dramatically Monday morning. This is worth study but I'm too busy at work right now to do it.

It is useful—it serves his people by feeding the Political Vices: Greed, Bigotry, Resentment, Paranoia, False Nostalgia, Coercive Religion, Revenge, Revision of Loss, and Apocalypticism. The tribe lives on combinations of these and the leaders’s gestures provide them.

The DOJ is already a weapon against crime. If the defendant did it and the prosecution is consistent, that’s not weaponization. The January 6 guys did it. We saw them do it. They were tried and convicted by a jury. Pardons don’t change that; a pardon in that case is just another crime. They did it.

Trump‘s people don’t actually make videos of him being a hero. They make videos of him bullying people. In fact, bullying—usually fellow Americans—is the central policy position of Trump‘s Republican Party. That’s all he does. That’s all his people want him to do.

THEY DID IT. The DOJ is a political entity. It exists to prosecute federal crimes, among other things. It is a WEAPON AGAINST CRIME. The J6 people DID FEDERAL CRIMES. DOJ functioned as intended—as a crime weapon. Investigated. (Easy—watch the video). Indicted. Convicted. Sentenced. THEY DID IT.

All DOJ personnel who take part in investigations intended to intimidate political opponents must be fired immediately, even if they were ordered to do so. As sworn federal agents they are obliged to give any and all information on these investigations to the public. They cannot continue to serve.
