Upstate Liberty had a minor issue where starting the Paramedic missions outside of any towns insta-failed it - but that's where an unused "radio out of range" feature present in those missions comes in handy! Now the player will get a message if they can't start the mission.

Turns out the latest one comes from a person who refuses to understand that SP re-enables NPC behaviour present on the PS2 but not PC, they don't like it, and therefore they claim "this is a fundamental bug caused by SP" This is so tiring ffs
Interesting developments, over the past several days I had multiple people showcase "things SilentPatch breaks" that turn out to be obvious issues with some other mods, then when confronted they all say "many other people reported the same" (with zero proof). Joys of new updates

ONE LAST FIX I swear, the fix for shattered glass I ported from Vice City still had one more constraint - it only supports glass that is perfectly upright. Guess what, a car showroom in Upstate Liberty has tilted windows so it still looked bad. Thankfully, it's a one liner fix!
This mod uses UE4SS to spawn the second controller, something UE4SS *includes as an example mod already*! This probably required only a few lines of tweaks. The hell do you need Claude to do here for you? At this point it's just laziness and not using AI to speed up your work.
Halo: Campaign Evolved doesn't have split-screen on PC, but this mod fixes that, if you're willing to look past some quirks www.eurogamer.net/halo-campaig...
Get ready for tomorrow! Here's a helpful yet low effort guide on SilentPatch release hours. Please note that it does not imply a patch for GTA London 1969, it's just there to provide a better reference point.
Seeing the GitHub issues of this "recompilation" is pretty enlightening on how "great" the end result of unattended AI recomps is. I suspected some issues, sure, but not *hundreds*.
Kotaku parading that garbage "recompilation" Generation 1 Pokémon project is genuinely upsetting. I was hoping the communities would reject vibe coded garbage, but these people are now intentionally hiding the usage and even lying that it's hand-written to peddle their slop onto others.
Turns out that glass in GTA III can't break correctly, and it never manifested in Liberty City, because 1. Every glass pane is square 2. Every glass pane is axis-aligned In Upstate, tilted rectangular panes exist, so the bug shows up 🫠 Thankfully I can port the fix from VC.
Out this Friday!I'm tying up the last loose ends and throwing some nice last-minute fixes, like this one: Rhino's model had fully functional lights, but they were disabled in-game through a GTA III/Vice City leftover. It looks much better with functional headlights and brakes!

This time it's a simultaneous PC/console release, good; NASCAR 25 being delayed on Steam by a month was pretty silly

Random modding memory unlocked: SA GFX Hack tool from 2005. I remember using it as a kid to "fix" reflections on some replacement cars... I couldn't help but peek into the assembly now: the "Reflection Fix" changes two D3D9 render states in the car envmap pipeline.
GTA isn't supposed to crash if there are too many objects created at once, but those damn stingers didn't get the memo
"Hey, this mod porting a feature from Vice City to GTA III occasionally crashes on exit! Is this something broken in your mod, or have you accidentally carried over a bug from Vice City?" Humble Vice City:
This is such a nice area in Staunton, and it's only ever used for a single hidden package. Nothing else ever happens there, and I genuinely forgot about this place until recently
Even the heli dust was not spared from getting regressions in the PC port (left) and behaved more logically on the PS2 (right). The fixed code is also far more optimal, as on PC a bug caused the dust spawning code to do 32 times more clearance checks than intended.
"I can't work today because Anonymous may have screwed Sony up" was not on my 2026 bingo card

Current nitpickiness status: Fixing extremely small III PS2 vs III PC differences. This is the correct, PS2, behaviour.

Vice City is not a game made for 4K, they said, and that's true - it's made for ultrawide 14K.
It looks much better when the heat haze scales correctly and is limited to areas around the exhaust, right? Now it looks just like on PS2 or PC at 640x480.
