We’re back with a new show tonight at 11:15pm on HBO! And we need the extra 15 minutes to catch up on the past month’s worth of news, of course. So far it’s mostly just “blah blah, lettuce, feces, blah blah” so we think 15 mins should be enough time to do a full debrief.

Controversial traditional leader and “influencer” Ngizwe Mchunu has been found guilty of hate speech, harassment and discrimination against gay, lesbian and transgender people by the Equality Court, sitting in Johannesburg. Read groundup.org.za/article/hate... by Tania Broughton

We’re back tonight at 11pm on @HBO! Right after the Earth, Wind & Fire documentary, and right before an encore presentation of the Earth, Wind & Fire documentary. In case you need a 40-minute break from enjoying world-renowned musicians. Because whatever “music” is, John is the opposite.

We’re back tonight at 11pm on @HBOmax! After 14 days of “vacation.” Or, as we like to call it, “the long, lonely fortnight forced upon us by our corporate overlords, during which a wedge of frigid isolation is driven between us and our one true love: the audience.” Tomato, toe-mah-toe, we’re back!

Tonight’s episode is streaming at 11pm on HBO Max! Or, you can turn on HBO at 11:23pm and accept the “John Oliver Challenge.” You watch the ep on live TV without pausing, looking at your phone, OR asking the person next to you “Wait, what did he say? Go back, go back.” Experts say it can’t be done!

We’ve got a new show tonight at 11:10pm on HBO Max! Or a new episode, rather. Sorry to those of you who had your fingers crossed for a completely different television series. We will be doing our same old “one guy sits at a desk and talks” thing.

We’ve got a new show tonight at 11:10pm on HBO Max! Ten minutes late, which, we’ll have you know, is the precise amount of time needed in order to be “fashionably” late. We’ve been told. By a friend. A cool one. That exists. We met them at summer camp. Ok fine! We read it! Yes, in an encyclopedia.

We’re back tonight at 11:10pm on HBO max! After 3 long weeks away! You know what that means!!! John has been alone, in the studio, at his desk, with the lights out, for 21 days straight. “Oh my gosh! Why don’t you let him out!!” RELAX. The door is unlocked, he just *chooses* not to leave.

4 - Pep Guardiola has won all four of his Premier League games against league-leaders with his Man City side starting the day 2nd in the table - the joint-most wins by a manager of 2nd vs 1st in the competition's history, alongside Alex Ferguson. Apex.

A joyous Pep Guardiola grins at Mikel Arteta with his head bowed as Man City beat Arsenal.

1981 – Leeds United recorded their first away league win over Manchester United since February 1981 (1-0), ending an 18-game winless run (D7 L11). Marching.

We’re back tonight at 11:10pm on @HBOmax! You’re not gonna wanna miss it! Unless, of course, you’re not a fan of this show. In which case, we apologize this post has reached your algorithm. It *is* sort of on you, since it’s your algorithm and all…you must like SOMETHING about us. But still. Sorry.

We’ve got a new episode tonight at 11:06pm on HBO Max! We need the extra six minutes because the network has us sharing the studio with some actress named Valerie Cherish and she keeps screaming “How’s THAT” in the middle of our rehearsals and it’s just…she’s great. We’re managing.

4 - In Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle, and Tottenham Hotspur, this is the first time ever that four sides from a single nation have all been eliminated at the same stage of a season in the UEFA Champions League. Fall.

Liam Rosenior scratches his head as Chelsea lose to PSG.Pep Guardiola looks forlorn as Man City lose to Real Madrid.Eddie Howe puts his hands to his head as Newcastle lose to Barcelona.Igor Tudor looks to the floor as his Spurs side are knocked out by Atletico Madrid.

We’ve got a new episode tonight at 11:11pm on HBO Max! Join us! And by “join us,” we mean turn on your TV. You cannot technically “join us.” But when you think about it, you can’t technically join anyone, can you? We enter this world alone, and we leave it alone. Ok! See you tonight!

Hello! We have a new episode airing tonight at 11pm and given… y’know…. everything, it feels important to specify that it was taped yesterday, Saturday, which helps explain the otherwise inexplicable ratio of “discussion of Iran” to “discussion of Steven Seagal’s hair color.”
