August 29th is Clear the Shelters Day - but any day is a good day to adopt a feathered friend. Tippi is one of our adopted birds. We brought her home from the San Diego Humane Society in 2024. If you are looking for a feathered pet to love, please consider adopting from a shelter.

I like to share photos of our "rainbow" budgies on their hatchdays. 🩵 Felix was our pretty boy. He loved the ladies but also had fun hanging with the boys. He enjoyed chewing balsa, Romaine lettuce and chatting to the handsome bird in the mirror. We treasured every moment with him. #adoptdontshop
The nanoblock budgie also comes in blue. 💙 Here is Cooper with hers in 2012.
A problem I sometimes have is deciding which one of the photos in a photo shoot to post. Today I am going to not pick and just post them all. Here is Tippi with her new friend. 💛💚

I like to remember our budgies on what would have been their hatchdays. Gordie was a senior budgie. He had been passed from home to home before we adopted him. He slowly came out of his shell and made friends with the flock. Gordie was our gold star budgie and was loved very much.
