Coppersmith since 1991. Does research on the gendered nature of archaeometallurgical interpretation for fun. Loves the natural world, looking at stars & is terribly keen on finding fossils – especially dinosaur bones & micrasters. www.coppersmithing.co.uk

Funny how things from the past occasionally come back into view (before vanishing again into the ether). I’ve just restored this Sam Fanaroff bowl, made shortly before my apprenticeship at Glynleigh Studios. It’s always nice to see an old friend.

Today’s the day! My lovely son-in-law Carl & I will be running the Out of the Blue 10k this evening in support of suicide prevention & mental health awareness charities – particularly the amazing Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team. Any donations would be gratefully received: gvwhl.com/DURHP Thank you ❤️❤️

It’s good to be back in the workshop after my studies. I’ve made mirrors for all my grandchildren - the motifs I choose tell the child’s story. This mirror has just been delivered. (The button came from a uniform worn by my beloved grandfather, after whom the youngest grandchild was named.)

At an airport I once saw a bunch of transcendentalists boarding a flight they’d chartered. At least I assumed they were transcendentalists because they were on a hire plane thank you please enjoy the weekend ahead.
