First, and most importantly, anti-data center folks refuse to believe data center developers and tech companies engage in good faith. They have staked out a purely reactionary position. Negotiation is useless. Just reject everything by default. They're playing this as Always Defect.

I find it frustrating, personally, when anti-data center organizers say that the job creation is a myth. Because I think that 500 six-figure jobs, for folks who go through apprenticeships but maybe don’t need college degrees, that last two to six years — that’s enough time to build a family, that’s enough time to buy a home. I think it’s supermeaningful. And when I talk to technicians, when I talk to workers, clearly it was extremely meaningful work. One of the things that was the most surprising to me, when I talked to data center activists, was that they responded to so many of the pro arguments with: I don’t believe them. So this company says that they are going to treat the water with chemicals in it so that it doesn’t flow into the lakes. People would say: I don’t believe them. I don’t think they can do it.

You know what sucks? I love Doctor Doom as a villain & we haven't had a good version of him yet. So I should be stoked for this. But I'm not lol. What made everything up to Endgame work is that you built up to Thanos, so that was a satisfying conclusion. There has been NO build up to Doom at all.

its some guy from the atlantic asking "What about a pro-life ethicist whose work argues that abortion is murder, and who believes that bodily autonomy arguments do not override moral duties to the fetus? Would they be hirable in any Gender Studies department at any elite (non-religious) university in America?" at once an innocent philosophical hypothetical, its also a trenchant question that goes to the heart of actually existing conditions in american colleges and universities in the year 2026

Is there any obvious reason why THE ODYSSEY is going to be huge? Is it just because it’s Christopher Nolan? Is he in his Mario "Super Star” phase? Is it because he’s seen as an “adult” filmmaker? Were people clamoring for tales of ancient Greece? Was it because OPPENHEIMER was big? (But y was it?)
