It's that time of the year again, when the Dragon Awards randomly decide to drop their finalists with no fanfare whatsoever. For those who are new here, what are the Dragon Awards? They are a popular vote SFF award handed out at Dragon Con, a large SFF media con in Atlanta, Georgia. They are in their tenth year now and have a chequered history, moving from participation trophy for puppies and Kindle Unlimited writers in the early years to to award honouring broadly popular SFF works in more recent years, which is what they were intended to be in the first place.

After years of building lives in UK, potentially hundreds of thousands of EU citizens are being told they have no right to remain The UK Home Office has started stripping some EU citizens of their post-Brexit residency rights, in a move that has raised concerns about Britain’s compliance with its withdrawal agreement with Europe. The UK internal affairs authority has told at least 100 people that they were given residency rights “in error”, disrupting their lives just as they come to the end of their five-year “pre-settled status” and prepare to upgrade to the permanent “settled status”. San Diego Comic Con is currently going on, which means that this is the weekend where we get a look at what will entertain us in the year to come, namely sneak peaks at new movies, TV shows and toys. And among many other things, this includes new Masters of the Universe toys So do you want to know what I think of the new Masters of the Universe toys revealed at San Diego Comic Con – illustrated with photos of my toys from my own collection which were not revealed at San Diego Comic Con, at least not this year?

I wouldn't be surprised if Morocco engineered this "crisis" or at least turned a blind eye, since they have a vested interest in taking over Ceuta and Melilla and kicking Spain out of North Africa.

🤔 49,000, huh? And Morocco didn't notice this caravan of humanity until they reached the walls of Ceuta? As you read more stories about this crisis, keep in mind that migration has long been used as a hybrid warfare tactic to destabilize/bring down states, strain borders, & sow political discord.

Not only did she provide some kids’ first exposure to Deaf and disabled people, she was a respected fixture on the Street, doing a professional job, teaching the basics of ASL, and—again, unsung—showed little disabled kids (like me) that they were worthy of love and respect.

The one-two punch of Linda and an appearance by Jeff Erlanger on Mr. Rogers is indirectly the reason public schools still must accept disabled students. Reagan tried to get rid of IDEA, and floods of letters from parents—primarily moms—who watched these shows with kids made him back off.

She stubbornly refused to let the writers on Sesame Street pigeonhole her, and she was responsible for the portrayal of Linda’s relationship with Bob. Linda the Librarian wasn’t inspirational—she was a person in your neighborhood (and part of the reason I’m in library school today).

Not unknown but unsung: Linda Bove, actress and poet, known to Gen X-millennials as Linda the Librarian on Sesame Street. She was TV’s first Deaf regular and very nearly singlehandedly changed children’s education surrounding disability. Also a founding member of Little Theatre of the Deaf.
