Saying goodbye to July. It was great to be back in Utah with family and friends. I enjoyed spending a few days with my mom exploring Snow Canyon and Kolob Canyon. It had been more than a decade since I’d been to southern Utah. What a beautiful state!

National Suicide Rate Remains Stable, Rates Decrease Across Most Racial Groups and Youth/Young Adults between 2023 and 2024

According to the new data from CDC WISQARS™, after increasing for two decades, the suicide rate has remained relatively stable since 2019, with only small fluctuations.

On March 31st, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision on Chiles v. Salazar, lifting the state ban on conversion therapy. AFSP remains dedicated to suicide prevention for the LGBTQ+ community and will continue advocating for evidence-based policies that reduce suicide risk.

#TransDayOfVisibility is dedicated to uplifting transgender, gender non-conforming, and nonbinary people, while recognizing the ongoing challenges they face. Today serves as a reminder to trans people that their experiences are valid, their voices matter, and they are loved.
