‘Imperfect Bodies’, Ali Isaac’s honest and compelling memoir, is a beautifully-written account of bringing up a disabled child. Here, we find reflections on motherhood, identity, and bodies, but what we ultimately encounter is a deep and enduring love that exists between mother and daughter.

I’m feeling massively inspired today after attending Alex Corrin-Tachibana’s online workshop on the British zuihitsu yesterday. It’s a form I’ve been fascinated by since I read Alex’s extraordinary ‘Madam Gout’ in Magma 91, so I was very keen to learn more about it. @corrintachibana.bsky.social
