Just had my first blood test after radiotherapy finished and I'm 'normal'. A huge relief and quite liberating
Came back to the hotel from an excellent meal and a promenade along the lakefront to be greeted by a recording of popular classics sung by Julio Iglesias. Unfortunate. Followed by a karaoke performer whose primary influence is Vic and Bob's club singer. Even more unfortunate.
Found a bootleg of Led Zeppelin at MSG 1975. Matrix of aud and soundboard. I don't especially like LZ but how bad can it be for 50p? Answer: very.
We were in an Edinburgh pub/club on Saturday. Various local bands played, mostly rock’n’roll or classic rock. One of the bands launched into the Sex Pistols’ Pretty Vacant. It was those in their late sixties who got up to dance. Time lurched sideways.
Enjoyable evening in Leith talking history. On the one hand, alcohol is contraindicated as an irritant after radiotherapy, on the other, a convivial night full of chat and laughter is therapeutic to the max
