I joined a birding walk this morning. When we saw some double-crested cormorants, someone remarked that cormorants aren't very photogenic, and in defense of cormorants I immediately thought of this photo I took in the Everglades years ago. #birds #wildlife #Everglades

Double-crested cormorant (a large dark bird) viewed at an angle from the rear, sticking its neck up and holding wings out to dry. Background is clear blue water, no ripples, with bits of trees and clouds reflected.

I don't see spotted trunkfish on the reefs often, and when I do it's usually just one, hiding. But on a snorkel in shallow seagrass near the reefs in Belize, there were several of them, in good light! I love them, they're beautiful! #marine #coralreef #nature

Spotted trunkfish, an oddly shaped kinda boxy fish, white textured background covered entirely in small black circles. Out of focus seagrass in the background.BildBild

Some swallows from a visit to Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in 2018, my second time there but my first visit there with a camera that has enough zoom to photograph swallows. Two tree swallows (one on the gray side, the other shiny blue) and one barn swallow. #birds #wildlife

This tree swallow has a mostly gray back with only a little blue showing.Tree swallow with shiny blue color, facing towards the camera, on a lichen-filled thin branch, with out of focus leaves in the background.Small barn swallow on wood deck panels.
