The Republican-led Senate just confirmed Todd Blanche to be our country’s next attorney general. Blanche is a self-proclaimed member of the gun industry with ties to a high-capacity magazine manufacturer. We deserve better than an attorney general who will put gun industry profits over safety.

Attorney General Jay Jones' office asked a Washington County court to put lawsuits challenging Virginia's ban on new sales of the AR-15 rifle and other guns on hold until after the US Supreme Court rules on similar restrictions in other states — decisions that will likely come in 2027.
