On the first day of the 69th session of the CND, the discussion focused on Member States’ approaches to narcotic substances. The event saw the intervention of President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and a record-breaking and vital participation by civil society organizations.

During yesterday’s Constructive Dialogue, the Alliance had the honor to meet Stephen Emery Murphy, who joined the event as a representative of Libertas International, an NGO dedicated to the fight of human trafficking and the recovery of former victims. 1/2

Today, the Alliance participated in the Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons. The debate covered topics on victims’ protection, non-criminalization, and physical and digital evidentiary issues related to cases of trafficking. 1/2

This week the Africa RPM took place in Addis Ababa. It was the fourth of five RPMs in preparation for the 15th Crime Congress. Civil Society representatives took part in the meeting and Nchokwe Donaldson Chepape delivered a statement on behalf of the Alliance.

Yesterday, the Coordination Meeting for the Africa Regional Preparatory Meeting was held online. Tobias Krachler moderated, Mirella Dummar (UNODC) gave inspiring remarks, and Alessia Pistilli presented the Civil Society Survey. The main event starts today in Ethiopia,best wishes!

After the successful conclusion of the Vienna RPM, we eagerly anticipate the remaining regional preparatory meetings for Africa (April 8-10) and Western Asia (April 23-25) in 2025.
