Hochul signed an executive order instituting a one-year ban on data centers over 50 megawatts rather than signing legislation passed by the legislature that also included a one-year ban.

Trump said his administration is fast-tracking approvals in “a matter of weeks” for behind-the-meter energy facilities to power data centers. But it’s not the only green light companies need.
