I have a blog post brewing about action fantasy RPGs since my last two campaigns have been Godkiller and Draw Steel back to back. But for now I'll say that action is a genre of fiction outside of games and just because it's done poorly in more popular RPGs doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried at all.

Which leads me to: Why do ethics-free monster killing in TTRPGs, specifically? That desire is better served in videogames. Digital media allows for more complex combat calculations quicker, and more sensory gore-candy in Unreal Engine ... Why play a Doom clone in pen and paper? 5/
