Maybe…and I’m just spitballing here…If the electorate doesn’t like Republican power grabs, they should stop voting for Republican candidates.
Republican power grabs in Kansas and Missouri are going down in flames with 18-25% of votes reported so far. Missouri's Amendment 4 aimed to make citizen-initiated constitutional amendments practically impossible. Kansas' Amendment 1 was designed to flip the state Supreme Court to ban abortion
Probably got a 2-for-1 deal. At the very least filled up the punch card where the 10th one is free.
Royals claimed lefty reliever Connor Thomas from the Athletics. I should say something snarky, but I’m kind of tired at this point.
The Royals still haven’t assigned Carlos Duran. Wondering that now that Bummer is here as a bullpen lefty (I know, I know) that Strahm might catch the DFA.
Today at Into the Fountains, I wrote about the Royals and their annual ritual of an underwhelming trade deadline. Click. Read. Subscribe. intothefountains.ghost.io/deadline-dud/
The Royals are just trying to duct tape a 26-man roster together to get over the finish line.
Oh. Ok. Has to be contingent with him actually making it back to the mound. Like with the Duffy trade all those years ago.
The Dodgers are acquiring LHP Kris Bubic in a trade with the Royals, per Jeff Passan
It's the trade deadline and MLB Radio is simulcasting some awful show from MLB Network. I would've let Ferrin and Duquette go another hour. Or more. It's a big day! What a disservice to fans and a total failure.
Kyle Freeland has made 251 big league starts. Today, he threw his first career complete game, an 8-1 win against the Royals. In 115 pitches.
Tell me you’re the worst team in the AL Central without telling me you’re the worst team in the AL Central.
The trade is official, per the Royals. Holton will be assigned to Class-A Columbia and Bruan will be assigned to Triple-A Omaha.
If the return is, as rumored, RHP Lucas Braun (#18-BA) and LHP Connor Holton (#30-BA) feels like a typically mid deal. Continuing to stock the system with arms I guess.
Yes. #18 in the Atlanta organization per Baseball America.
When you say #18-BA for example, does that mean Atlanta's number 18 prospect?

Falter being in this deal is...intriguing? He pitched to a 3.56 ERA in 46 IP in AAA. Atlanta—like every playoff contender—needs arms. If the Royals pay down the remaining money on Thomas (around $1.5M) & Falter (around $1M) they could sweeten their return. Just a bit.

@Ken_Rosenthal tweeted Source confirms: Braves acquiring Lane Thomas and Bailey Falter from Royals. First: @JeffPassan
@JeffPassan tweeted Trade news: The Atlanta Braves are acquiring outfielder Lane Thomas and left-hander Bailey Falter from the Kansas City Royals, sources tell ESPN.
Noah Cameron threw eight fantastic innings. Too bad he couldn’t throw one more. In a season full of brutal losses, this one of the worst you’ll ever see. intothefountains.ghost.io/royals-this-...
This bullpen ruins everything
Noah Cameron was brilliant in his start. Then, the bullpen got involved.
intothefountains.ghost.io
I’m starting to think the Royals bullpen isn’t very good.
WALK OFF GRAND SLAM Kody Clemens (19) 407 ft (27°, 104.7 mph) off Matt Strahm (82.7 mph Slider, 2684 rpm) KC 3-MIN 4 (B9, 0-2, 2 outs) https://www.mlb.com/video/kody-clemens-hits-a-grand-slam-19-to-right-center-field-ryan-jeffers-scor-dysd0f
Noah Cameron threw first pitch strikes, leaned on a nasty cut fastball & kept the Twins off balance all day long. 8 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K Royals lead 3-0 & I am frightened for the horrors of the Royals bullpen to be unleashed upon this ballgame.
Jac just launched one 438 feet. Maybe. It hit the flag in right field. Holy moly.

Royals HR leader, all-time: George Brett - 317 Salvador Perez - 317
Today at Into the Fountains I wrote about Salvador Perez, home run number 317 and celebrating milestones in a season that has failed to live up to expectations, both for him and the team. intothefountains.ghost.io/royals-salva...

The Captain ignites the Royals comeback to get the win and the three-game sweep over the Giants.
