Just a typical childless cat dad married to a childless cat lady. Los Angeles (Koreatown) resident. Originally from Buchannon, WV and Killbuck, OH (my parents had a thing for Bucks apparently).

I moved to Los Angeles so I have an excuse to not care about the Browns, don't make me pay attention now. Most of my memories of the brows are post Ravens so I have only known them to be a terrible team, but I have fond memories of spending time watching the games with my dad so there is that.

My normally noisy ass neighborhood here in LA is eerily quiet during the Mexico v England match. Only noise was some fireworks during the single Mexico score (before half). If Mexico wins, our neighborhood will be lit. I assume people kept some fireworks aside from the 4th.

Had some makgeolli at The Prince. Also had fried chicken but gobbled it up before realizing I didn't take a photo. Also the Gaylord sign never burns out right. Venus and Jupiter (I think) being goddamn bright.

Night sky of the western sky in Koreatown. Two planets that I think are Venus and Jupiter. Super damn bright. Burnt out sign of the Gaylord building. Only ay and ord are lit.Makgeolli with the traditional cup bowl things. I bought some once and didn't realize they were not dishwasher safe.

Going to be flying out to Cleveland to see family in Ohio. Besides some pierogi (I have to force myself to remove the s) and Heini's cheese, I am super excited for Cedar Point. They added three new coasters since I lived there (if you count TT2 as a new coaster).

I know it's a dumb thing to be impressed about. But a 50 year old record player not only still works but is automatic without any microchips.

We took advantage of the D line extension. It was great! Was able to get from Wilshire/Normandie to Wilshire/Fairfax headache free. We will be able to do museum days without hating the drive or parking.

They sort of taped over the old Wilshire/Western sign at the Wilshire/Normandie station .Whole new stops. A sign showing the extension. London tube style sign Fancy new station at Fairfax. Lots of people on a Saturday. We went to the Tar Pit museum. It will be closed for reservations next month.

My wife can fall asleep with every single light on with no problems. But if there is a piece of electronics in the room with a blue LED she can't. She can fall asleep with the TV blaring but me not putting the toilet seat down super gently is a major disturbance in the force.

As a Koreatown resident, I am surprised the neighborhood isn't known much outside of LA. We have amazing food, you can actually walk, and some of the OG grocery stores can be a fun visit. We have good public transit access (by LA standards). But if you drive, then park at a garage and walk.

I had a conversation about the Muppets and then I went on about, "there is that short guy with the glasses that was everywhere. He was on the Muppets and even did a Daft Punk song." I had lost my wife so I googled him and sure as shit it came up with the answer. Notice, it wasn't Gemini....

Google question of "70s short guy with glasses"

And the answer NOT from Gemini:
If you watched television in the 1970s, you no doubt remember Paul Williams -- the short, blond, bespectacled guy who showed up everywhere: collecting an Academy Award for the Barbra Streisand ballad "Evergreen"; appearing on "The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson" almost 50 times; writing the tune "Rainbow Connection" ...

One right our fascist Republican lead government hasn't taken away is my right as an American to bitch about the weather even if the sky is falling. Yes there are far greater worries in the world, but it's a slice of normal to bitch about how hot it is in Los Angeles.

Old ass Toyota Prius shows the temperature of 90F (~33C). Also a German song is playing telling us to run.
