Thirty-five former federal judges just called the $1.776 billion slush fund a fraud on the court. The lawsuit that justified it was never adversarial — Trump was both plaintiff and controller of the defendant. The legal fig leaf was the point. The money was always the goal.

Johnson blocked Congress from voting. Collins holds the vote and won’t call it. Two different mechanisms; one imposed from outside, one chosen from within. Same result: the authority stays on paper. Abdication is harder to fight than capture. You can’t vote out someone who surrendered voluntarily.

The 60-day war powers clock ran out May 1. Congress had the authority to force withdrawal. Johnson sent them home early to stop the vote. That’s not dysfunction. That’s the institution disarming itself from the inside.

They didn't call it a ban. They didn't need to. Yesterday USCIS announced green card applicants must now leave the US and apply from abroad, except in "extraordinary circumstances." No vote. No legislation. Just a memo. ↓

Monday: Colbert calls Paramount’s $16M payment to Trump a “big fat bribe.” Thursday: CBS cancels his show. One week later: Trump’s FCC approves the Skydance merger. Now Paramount-Skydance is pursuing another megamerger with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Trump sued the IRS for $10 billion. His own DOJ settled the case. The deal created a $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization” fund AND permanently bars the IRS from examining his family’s past tax returns.
