Original art piece idea by @mIdrux on Twitter, but I and others were disappointed they drew it with mean-spirited intentions.. even calling the kidfur character a "diddyblud" (yes. verbatim) and getting wrapped up in "proship discourse." I thought the message was too human to let it be diluted + overshadowed by typical online whataboutisms and wanted to redo + reclaim it with more touches of the furry fandom, esp being a furry myself. It's love. For some, the love of your life is in the corner of a boring furcon panel room -- even if they don't have the same "interests," it's care that bridges the gap.

I’m grateful to @tuliphonk.bsky.social for bringing this idea to life. My favorite part of working with Tulip is that I can bounce ideas off her and she gravitates toward the ones that are most on my heart. I’ve had Creon for nearly 10 years, but was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 7 years ago.

Here is Creon’s reference sheet. I’ve simplified the layout and shifted the background to a gentle purple. I’m so happy with how it looks. It’s going on 10 years old and still holds up so well. Thank you so much, Tropicana!

Creon has whipped-cream white underbelly scales and smoked salmon-pink main scales that swirl along its edges. Between the pink and white are pale dreamsicle-orange scales, especially noticeable along his hands and around his baby blue eyes. Two rows of ivory-tone spikes line the back of his head and curl along their tips. Smaller spikes on his snout, wingtips and claws match. His wings appear to be thin and modelled off of bat wings. The front webbing matches his Dreamsicle orange and on its reverse side is a much richer red than his base scale color. His forehead and thighs are dotted with burgundy spots, which also match the fluff in his ears.

$I'm very ill with several things I've had to struggle with almost my entire life, many of which are thankfully not visible, but... None have reigned over my life more so than my permanent ostomy I wound up with after the many battles I had to go through at a young age to save my life. It had gotten so bad that I was given two weeks to live and it left me with a hard decision to make. To allow myself a graceful exit, or to live on knowing what I would have to sacrifice. It's a decision that if I'm being truthful, is still one I often regret to this day... Though I do not expect many to understand why. It's been a very long and arduous road of trying to heal. Of self discovery, and of acceptance... A life filled with past trauma, and with the curse in knowledge that I must still endure much more well into the future... Despite that, every day I continue marching on. To live. To spite death for having me go through a couple of near death experiences and all of the challenges it had decided to throw at me along the way. It's a journey that I know will remain difficult. And as someone who considers himself a fraction of a fully functional person... I still try. Even if I sometimes find it impossibly difficult to keep going. These days I grasp on to any little happiness I can find so I can reflect it 100 fold onto those close to me who have helped me almost every step of the way, and to hopefully be a little ray of light for others who enjoy the works I've been getting, here and elsewhere. That has largely been my mission after all, to make others happy when often times I cannot be happy myself. Thank you to every single one of you who has ever left me a kind message or has given me fun conversations or happy things to think about. You have no idea just how much they mean to me, and how they keep me going. To verify images, digital forensics investigators will often check whether the geometry of the scene is realistic. In a real photo, lines that run parallel in reality—like floor tiles—should meet at a single vanishing point. In this image, however, the dotted lines do not meet in a single point, indicating it is a fake.
