The whole "we bought the story because 'minority'" and then saying the stories were bad is so demeaning. The stories aren't bad because non-English speakers wrote them. They're bad because AI did and you just couldn't get past your own biases to realize that. Writers deserve better. All writers.

"We didn't know it was AI. We just thought it was bad!" Admitting you: •framed a piss stain that looks like the Virgin Mary if you squint and tilt your head •sold tickets to see it •infantilIzed/demeaned non-native English speakers is not the defense you think it is #antiAI #bonabooks #litmag

This story began as a 1000 word flash for one of Apex's monthly challenges. Then it was expanded for Bow & Chariot's Sci-Fi Challenge. And then it was revised for Parsec where it was a Top 10 Finalist from over 500 entries. Now it's looking for its final home. #shortstory #sciencefiction

It's a Top 32 finish for my plant-based sword and sorcery story in Writing Battle. It did much better than I thought it would and is my highest-placing WB entry of the year. Also, received some good and actionable feedback that I'll put to good use when I revise this one.

I've procrastinated enough today. Time to go write. Sometimes prompts do not spark joy. 😂 But I set my brain to the task while I slept, and it came up with an idea that (hopefully🤞) won't be done by everyone else participating this month.

The creative prompts for the #FuriousFiction famously change every month. From pictures to emojis to locations and even the phonetic alphabet. What will October's be? Who knows what could pop up...

Rainy Saturday mornings are made for revising and submitting stories. My NQW entry gained a new title and nearly 500 words before I sent it off to find a new home.🤞
