I keep thinking about the discourse from the other day suggesting writers are gatekeeping writing information for ourselves and I just think back to 2019 when every writer was out there giving away writing advice until one by one each stopped because social media blows and we can't have nice things.
Being an ally can be hard sometimes. You get yelled at by a LOT of shitheads just for speaking up. But not giving money to hateful people/organizations actively making the lives of those you claim to care most about worse? That's the easiest fucking part of allyship. If you can't give up that...🤷
I made a similar joke yesterday, but I guarantee someone at Neon really wants to call this BACKROADS. It's gonna get some comparisons to BACKROOMS, though it premiered over a year ago on the festival circuit, predating the current trends. Cool As fuck vibes driven cosmic horror. Highly recommended.

With the success of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, THE ODYSSEY, BACKROOMS, TOY STORY 5, PROJECT: HAIL MARY, and SUPER MARIO GALAXY, it's clear audiences are hungry for original stories over tired rehashed IP, like the critics have been opining about for months... Hold on, I'm being handed a note.
There are roughly 75 movies set in the Marvel multiverse that, through in-universe explanation, exist simultaneously in the same storyline and that is absolutely fucking crazy to me. That is, of course, before the few hundred of hours of television that exist in the same worlds as well. BANANAS.

Don't let the Ai discourse discourage you aspiring writers out there. Art is valued by its rarity, and the rarest thing in the world is the talent of a single individual. What can be mass produced for cheap has little value. You are an original. A one of a kind. A bespoke wonder. Never forget that.
I think the dumbest pro-Ai opinion I read today was "I really don't like reading other people's Ai writing. I'm like, why would I read someone else's when I can just have my agent write my own?" and I'm like "Buddy, you've ALMOST got it."
I just read a Scalzi-bashing pro-Ai thread that actively made me dumber reading it. Galaxy brained geniuses opining "Why would the author of DON'T CREATE THE TORMENT NEXUS be against building the Torment Nexus? Fucking Decel!" Yeah! Why WOULD the authors of the warning labels find reason to worry?
