I'm not sure that the drive to "specialist care" in the NHS can be described as a successful strategy if it's only available for 5 days a week in office hours. So much emphasis on "demand management" for patients to not go to A&E. What about other bits of healthcare?

Privatisation in NHS. So there's £169 million of tax payers money gone to private providers as profits. Think I might have found a better use in say, funding primary and social care better tbh.

Great talk from Prof Shweta Gidwani This happens every day. Lots of people in the NHS spend more effort trying to turn down contributing to patient care than actually offering to help because of toxic silo culture. Specialism has worsened this. DOI Generalist

Reminder for those Americans hating on Ukraine: Ukraine gave up their nuclear warheads in 1994 after signing a deal with America that guaranteed their security. America has fucked Ukraine over twice.

For EM docs this is like making anaesthetists work without a CO2 monitor and a sats probe. You know someone will die, but you're being told to just get on with it. God forbid we speak the truth, better just pretend it's normal. www.independent.co.uk/news/health/...

Hospital advertises for ‘corridor care doctor’ as A&E crisis deepens

Top doctor warns the need for the ad was a ‘frightening and worrying indictment of how bad things have become’
