I've started painting Aethon Shaan this weekend! Specifically the gorgeous feather cloak he's wearing on the back and inbetween armor and jump-pack. With orange bounchelights and a kind of petrol shine for the feathers. Very fun! #ravenguard #aethonshaan #minipainting #warhammer40k #goldendemon

The coloration of it ranges from a high value desaturated yellow/beige, through different oranges into brown-ish reds and a few low value browns for shadows.

The paintjob is based on red rocks often seen in canyons and certain desert areas of North America.

We got paint on the rock! I started with dark browns and reds through the airbrush, before getting started on the most weathered yellow-beige top facing surfaces. I'll spend a bit more time on this, but I'm excited how fast I'm progressing already! #miniaturepainting #goldendemon #rockpainting

Here's an updated group photo of my Custodes & Sisters army to date! The first one, the sentinel at the center behind Trajann, was started in 2020, and the newest, the woman on our left, was finished just a few months ago in 2026. It's so cool to really see my painting journey in this image! 🖤💜💙💚🤍

Group photo of every single miniature I painted for my Custodes army to this date (July 2026). They each look slightly distinct, since they were painted at different points in my painting journey (first ones in 2021, newest in 2026), and I've actively allowed that to show in my painting style, quality and choices.

The features they share, generally, are often a black armor with silver decorative details, blue fabrics, pauldrons and plumes, as well as green osl on bases shining up from below. I also usually used magenta for light effects or tiny accent tones and painted faces in different ways and skintones.

The group features six custodes on foot, two of them being named characters, then there's three winged Venatari, one shield-captain on jetbike and two different dreadnoughts, one Galatus and one Telemon.

I used one entire package of milliput to coat the foam pillar. Next I'll go into detailed shaping of the rock structure and add interesting details. In the downtimes of putty curing I'll also keep adding decorative details to the marines. #miniatures #basing #ravenguard #goldendemon #gd2026

Blade Zero is done! This was such a fun ride! I got to explore and practice so many materials and light interactions while setting this character into one of my favorite fictional settings. It's a real joy painting such a lovely sculpt! #miniaturebust #minipainting #bust #osl #nmm #traditionalart

Photography of the miniature bust 'Blade ZERO', which I have been painting as a commission inbetween Dec 4th 2025 and July 1st 2026. The productive painting time should roughly clock in around 110-120 hours. (21 update posts, 42 sessions, 4 hour long streams per session, subtract twitch-related activities from those hours to get the rough active painting time)

For the paintjob I went with a synthwave colorscheme as a baseline, with deep blue, purple and warm orange. The neutral tones for skin, hair and banners are a cold off-white, to draw the eye to the center and frame the face. The powerful green OSL lighting her up from behind and her right camme in later and serves as a sort of challenge and counterbalance to the warm saturated tones around her backpack headband and sleeve.

I embraced the cyberpunk style sculpt and painted her eyes with reticule lenses, a cyberwear detail on the nose and thematic freehand for the Mox - all details referencing the game Cyberpunk 2077.

The figure depicted is a sci-fi style assassin, posed in an attack-motion with two daggers in hand and flowing banners framing the torso and head. It is sold by Neko Galaxy under the name 'Blade ZERO'.
