When Edwards beat Rep. Madison Cawthorn in the 2022 GOP District 11 primary, it was supposed to end the scandals. Cawthorn's short time in office was filled with embarrassing, bizarre controversies. Edwards was supposed to be a refreshingly boring candidate. It hasn't worked out that way. #NCpol
