Wrapping the Curse chapter in The Storyteller's Guide to Folklore today, which means the Folk Narrative and Folk Belief chapters are done. Tomorrow, I'll start the Folk Life chapters, which means I can see the finish line in the distance. Twelve chapters down and five to go, plus the conclusion.

Last night, I got a royalty payment for a story I wrote eighteen years ago titled "Akhila, Divided." It was in the first Clockwork Phoenix anthology, and I've gotten periodic royalties for it over the years. How cool is it that my story is still hangin' out with its friends, making money?

My agent reports that someone is continuing to impersonate her, so I'm re-sharing her post to help protect my fellow writers.

AUTHOR SCAM ALERT: Someone is STILL impersonating me and contacting authors pretending to be me. Please be careful & share with other writers! Any email claiming to be from me that comes from a Gmail account is NOT legitimate. The account has been reported to authorities.

I just wanted to reach out and say to anyone who needs to hear it: You're not too old. It's not too late. Success comes when it comes. Keep reaching. You've got this. Also, if you've offered me kindness on my own path, thank you. I'm here, in part, because of that kindness.

Wishing you all a Blessed Lughnasadh. I've been under the weather with a throat infection but felt well enough this morning to go for a walk with Sean and Maddy at Dalem Lake. We encountered this charming little fairy door along the trail; a bit of folklore in the wild!
