65 years ago today, 1,400 Cuban exiles were sent by the U.S. government to invade their own island. The Bay of Pigs invasion collapsed in 3 days. The policy logic behind it never did. As the Trump admin renews threats of military action against Cuba, we say: NOT IN OUR NAME!

Cuban Americans calling for change and a new approach to U.S.-Cuba relations. It’s time to lift the embargo.
What moments stuck with us from our time in Cuba? 💭 At José Martí airport, just before we left, members of Cuban Americans for Cuba shared reflections from Havana.
“[W]hat’s intended as a blow to the government is punishing the Cuban people,” writes @suzy.bsky.social for De Los. Check out her reflections on family, cubanidad, and engagement that Cuban Americans are increasingly calling for. www.latimes.com/delos/story/...

“Both sides dance to the same beat. Both sides speak with the same swing. ... Some are capitalists, some are communists, but we’re all Cubans, divided by chance, circumstance and the sea.” Read @suzy.bsky.social’s reflections from Havana. www.latimes.com/delos/story/...

The release of over 2,000 prisoners is a welcome humanitarian step. Cuban Americans support all efforts that reduce suffering. Despite the Trump administration's attempts to strangle Cuba, they continue to work in good faith toward normalization. The U.S. should do the same.
The Cuban government said Thursday it had pardoned 2,010 people in a humanitarian gesture that comes while the island is under extreme pressure due to a U.S. oil blockade.
We just got back from Havana, where we connected with community groups and brought much-needed aid. We also saw firsthand how deeply the U.S. blockade impacts the lives of Cubans. Here’s a video recap of our time there 📹
Members of Cuban Americans for Cuba share what inspired them to travel to Havana as part of a group that brought 6,300 pounds of urgently needed medicines, medical supplies, and other items to the island.

For many Cuban Americans, the politics we inherit aren’t the only ones possible. @susananotsusan.bsky.social reflects on unlearning decades of narratives about Cuba and why supporting the Cuban people means opposing the embargo. www.commondreams.org/opinion/bein... #Cuba #EndTheEmbargo

Being a good Cuban American means to support the people, and to fight for what's right and just for them, not for the government; American or Cuban.

Hardliners say that Cubans are desperate for U.S. intervention. Sara Kozameh talked to many Cubans of all political stripes as part of her coverage for The Guardian. Not one supported U.S. intervention. Cubans want dignity and sovereignty, not U.S. sanctions.

For decades, politicians have claimed that the embargo represents us. We're sending a delegation of Cuban Americans to Cuba with the Nuestra América Convoy to deliver critical aid and show the world that Cuban Americans stand with Cuba. Support our delegation: cubanamericansforcuba.org/delegation

Cuban Americans nationwide are uniting for a just, humane, and prosperous relationship between the U.S. and Cuba. Decades of "maximum pressure" has only brought maximum suffering. It's time for a new approach: end the embargo and normalize relations. cubanamericansforcuba.org/letter
We are Cuban Americans demanding a different path forward. No U.S. intervention in our name. We call for lifting sanctions and building a relationship with Cuba based on stability and shared prosperity.
The media keeps recycling the same loud voices calling for continued sanctions and regime change. But they’re not the whole story. Many of us are working for what actually helps our families: easing tensions, rebuilding ties, and creating shared prosperity for our families. #Cuba #EndTheEmbargo
The crisis in Cuba isn’t abstract. It’s our relatives going without power, food, and medicine because the U.S. is blocking oil shipments. Cubans in Miami and across the country want engagement, not escalation. #Cuba #EndTheEmbargo

There is no such thing as a "friendly takeover." The future of Cuba belongs to Cubans, not Donald Trump.
Donald Trump suggested a possible “friendly takeover of Cuba” as the White House looks to leverage the Communist-run island’s energy crisis to exert greater influence.
Cuban Americans are speaking for ourselves. Marco Rubio, Maria Elvira Salazar, and Carlos Giménez do not speak for us, and we refuse to let them push our families into a deeper crisis in our name. Join us in calling for engagement, not escalation: cubanamericansforcuba.org/letter
The U.S. has counted on Cuba’s “fall” for decades and been wrong at every turn. It’s on us, as Americans, to organize against this naked imperialism. We need to stop Trump’s war machine and undo decades of U.S. economic warfare on Cuba.

Cuba has one of the highest literacy rates in the world, yet the USA with a literacy rate of ~79% wants to continue to oppress and choke the sovereign island nation? END THE EMBARGO, IT HAS NEVER WORKED. #cuba #EndTheEmbargo #freecuba
