Hot Takes: Jay Bennett would still be here if he wasn't shown the door. Also, YHF was a let down and the beginning of the end.

Anyone else wonder about how these politicians would handle working a real, regular job? We are their bosses. Each and every one.
Application you use daily: I'm just gonna move this button over....there.
(said after waiting in a 45 minute line of cars to scan entry to a concert) "Was this really the line to pick up my grandma from prison?" It would've made the old man proud. There is another variation which involves the grocery store and a case of grandma's preferred beer. Always good for a laugh.
What's the opposite of a flex? My ten year old Subaru does NOT make me watch advertisements.
Just a nod of support to anyone dealing with the dark unsavory underbelly of parenthood...whether that means wavy lines around dirty diapers, or wavy lines around teenagers. Peace and strength be with you each.
In a sentence? Ok, sure. Crashing out is what you do when you need to crash.
Take pictures of your hands so you can remember what they looked like when they weren't old.
Oh, I definitely agree. But *which* insane grifter in specific? There are so many.
Blues songs seem mostly to be either a) my woman doesn't love me anymore, or b) can you believe this dumb shit my man did? Seems the former could take some precautionary hints from the latter.
Pigs in Blankets & Brownies is better than Pigs in Blankies & Brownlets, that's all I'm saying.
I was today years old when my own kid asked if I'd wanna go see Modest Mouse. OFC I do! Now if I can find Built To Spill show for us to catch...
There is a disturbingly long pause now when flashing a modern BIOS. It was way more dramatic than it needed to be.
Chops on the grill with a kiss of hickory smoke. Nary a mosquito, to boot!
Zombie Meeting: the meeting organizer is on PTO, and 80% of the attendees are unavailable, as well. A cancellation email is sent to all attendees. But, because the organizer cannot officially cancel the meeting, someone inevitably joins and is upset that they didn't RTFE.

At some point in history, there was the first racist. And then they somehow procreated. Scratch that. There must've been TWO at first, otherwise no one would have fucked the other one.
Smarter people will prevail, eventually, but probably only after really leaning into some righteous meanness.
In digging into my family history a little more, now, and am kinda amazed that for a few formative years I lived, walked, fished, and enjoyed the exact same places that they did for entire generations. I went to school with kids whose names I knew from hearing my grandma tell stories about theirs.
Can't we get a "Seems like AI slop" button, too? If it works better than blocking, I would happily use it (and I'd be less antisocial). But, lacking better tools...
Oh my God, this is not a drill - LinkedIn has added 'seems like AI slop' as an option on posts Genuinely thought it was a joke until I clicked on a few posts
While doing some genealogy I found my Dad's obit. While reading it and getting a tinge nostalgic for the old man, I noticed a link for "funeral livestream". Of course I clicked it, thinking it was bogus. Not this time, wtf.
Hawley's the kind of guy who would throw rocks at your dog from over his fence and then run back inside his house to call the police when you come knocking.
Checked in on the remaining elder on my Dad's side. She's probably the toughest but sweetest person I know. She is a saint, but she'll cut ya. She dropped some seriously wild info on me today that I really need to do some genealogy research to confirm.
I was just on a meeting whose host disconnected, but some folks stayed on to continue a separate discussion. Good thing no one reads AI summaries.
