Experimental Horror Music || Sprawling many genres, bound by atmospheric eeriness, and cloaked in darkness. || cucurbitophobia.com

I try to ignore movie spoilers as much as possible. Only I will decide if a movie is enjoyable or not. I do not let overnight internet film critics make such decisions for me. Case in point: everybody railed the movie HIM, and I thought it was great!

I miss the days where networking your music in a non-obnoxious way didn’t get you shadowbanned or flagged for “spam”. It happened to me on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at least once. I really hope that no such thing becomes apparent here on Bluesky to that level.

I’ll never live without creating original music. I have way too much pride within myself to not want to express myself with the art that I create. If others enjoy and are impacted by what I create, no matter how weird, unnerving, disturbing, or “out there” my output is, then it’s a bonus.

Creating original music has to be a labor of love. It’s more difficult than ever to stand out, more expensive to promote, and more challenging to avoid getting swallowed up in the algorithmic abyss. If you’re pursuing music only because you hope to become rich, well…good luck.
