in every reality, in every timeline, I am in the kitchen eating candied nuts

those people… they like blood, y’know? Canadian trans woman and horror fiction writer
I took a government sponsored entrepreneurship seminar last week (I am considering doing a capitalism) and it was really basic but really good. We heard from a bunch of smart people. My takeaway: a whole bunch of this is psychological, and if you don’t care deeply about your business you will fail.
I’m a transfem buddhist heretic nun steeped in seaside industrial port city gloom. The kind of dame who is obviously autistic in a way that you know will break your heart, writing nasty stories to exorcise intrusive thoughts and writhing in the cosmic horror of having a living body.
quantum mechanics are a limited hangout
choose your vibes based ontology... or else!!!
my most controversial language learning opinion is probably that RTK (Remembering the Kanji by James Heisig) is a fun memory game and I’d recommend it even to people who AREN’T learning Japanese.
headsploded and recoalesced recently it really is silly how we think we can understand things and plan ahead when we are all just pieces of shrapnel in a slow explosion.
I keep trying to write fiction with a pen but it won’t click for me. Words won’t go. I want computer back.
nothing much just sitting in the dark and laughing what’s up with you
every piece of art you consume is a writing prompt. What do you think about what you saw/read/listened to? What moved you? What pissed you off? What delighted you or inspired you or made you think of that one time…? and then you just make something about it.
that shivery peak of ecstatic realization: there is an option you overlooked that solves everything, actually
making it rain at the pharmacy 💵(my medications are very expensive)
half of Canada is currently on fire. We lose hundreds or thousands of species a DAY to extinction. Coral reefs are pretty much done. All the headlines are now about climate disasters. and it will all get worse exponentially, not linearly. Fossil fuels ™️ doing some WILD gaslighting here.
meanwhile hundreds of people died this very morning in a flash flood/mudslide in Nepal
the thing about Thai horror is, I think, when your audience are 80% believers in actual ghosts and black magic in real life you don’t need to “elevate” the format or bring in other themes.
my life has not become less precarious but I have been noticeably happier over the last few months.
It is funny to me how preoccupied anglophones are by the lack of spacing between words in Thai. Every video or article about Thai makes a big deal about it but it is literally never a problem. Vowel frames + context make it obvious 99% of the time.
i learned about shrekking today and I think we might be approaching a singularity. They’re so close to getting it.
my outdated version of Bluesky on my phone doesn’t let me quote post most of the time and maybe that’s a good thing for everyone.
horror is (to me) first and foremost an awakening of the buried knowledge that you will die, possibly suddenly and painfully, and it will be out of your control, and final, and kind of meaningless like it has been for every animal that has died before you.
am I the only one who thinks the utility of examining grief by making horror about it is pretty limited
The world should go away and leave me in peace to puzzle through Japanese sentences.
I finally found my perfect drug and it is Satori Reader. All I care about now is Satori Reader.

my fountain pen isn’t working, which would be less depressing if most of the electrical outlets and 1/2 of the sinks weren’t also not working.
my roommate finally got into reading over the summer because she bought herself some niche romance and erotica books. She always wanted to read more, but she couldn’t focus on the books everyone recommended to her (including me). Read what you want!
