We're still here - slogging through the final game systems. Will likely have an update in a couple days.
Day 14: It finally almost... looks like a game 😭 7.5kB - but still a ton of work to do! #JS13K
Day 12 + 13: Thrilled to report we now have a RUDIMENTARY GAME LOOP! Enemies technically fire at you, you can fire back, and the game crashes when you die 🥀 #JS13K
Day 11: Just one more refactor before we get the game fully working... c'mon man... last one I swear... #JS13K
Day 7 + 8: We wanted to make sure the UI we had planned didn't sneak up on us, so we scaffolded out the bones. It contains an image rendered via polygons (but we're not ready to show it off just yet). 5.4kB!
Day 5 - our ship is moving!! Tough to get a truly smooth output from a digital input, but it's good enough to move forward with, we'll tune it later. #JS13k
Day 4 - we've started building. Shapes and colors - all in only 3kB!
Day 3! We were able to simulate a couple seconds of gameplay in paper form! Flying towards the green pack of enemies on the left to take one out, the red pack caught up with us. At the last moment we "spin counter"'d a bullet right back in their face! Time to start building this thing!
Day 2: Long day of brainstorming and prototyping. Distilled the ideas we had down to about ~1kB (unoptimized) RNG code for paper playtesting tomorrow! #JS13k
Day 1 complete! This year's theme is "UNICORNS and RAINBOWS" and we've landed on a concept: You play as a pilot mercenary in the sector of space known only as “THE PRISM”. Your client (a space unicorn) is fading and has hired you to collect the "true colors" necessary for their survival. #JS13k
