Taking time to relax is an important part of healthy living. CVT clinicians remind us, we all need to do things we enjoy; this means finding ways to relax, walking outdoors, dancing, eating healthy food. Taking good care of our bodies and mind helps us and helps us to support others.

Trauma is complex, and there are times when our bodies react in ways we don’t expect. Normal reactions to trauma can feel confusing. CVT clinicians tell us that even if you feel fine after a difficult experience, there may be signs that your system is reacting to trauma - time for good self-care.

If you had walked into the assembly hall in Shire on the morning of June 22, the first thing you’d notice would be the colorful ribbons and large number of guests invited to celebrate a big event.

It can take some time to become aware that you are experiencing impacts from a traumatic experience. Pay attention to body aches or insomnia – this can be your body’s way of alerting you that you’ve been through a serious situation. Start your self-care and be mindful of your physical health.
