truly the thing that stands out with Doom (and Half Life, and Quake, and Marathon, and--) is that we used to let level designers be bastarding little tricksters in a way that even the Good Level Design shooters of the 2010s onwards forgot

Lately I've had both Fleischer Superman, and the New York Central's streamlined Hudsons in mind, so this was inevitable. It'll be a long time before I have a model train layout again, so for now I'll settle for animating my railroad ambitions.
And now, The Pennsylvania Railroad T1. I'm still floored by the response that the Hudson got, so a sequel is very much necessary.
