So fucking burned out being in AI/ML safety and robustness, genai has made my work miserable and not enjoyable, and trying to convince people of what is obvious to me is almost not worth the effort sometimes, and then 6 months later they go “you were right”
Not using a computer for a week has been amazing, maybe all of the efficiencies it affords are not as worth it
Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.

And in horrifying news, Idaho's governor has signed the felony bathroom ban, with 5 year penalties for second offense bathroom usage, into law. This is the most significant criminalization of trans people to date. On trans day of visibility no less. It will require a new "Do not travel" warning.
Hot ai take of the day, the most useful thing out of all of the various AI code agents isnt the ability to generate code but rather all of the tools we have made to help the agents, and if those were packaged for human use you could het most of the benefit of ai without using the llms
had to spend a bunch of time working in sharepoint today and damn i forgot how slow working in guis is, just give me files and terminal, so much easier
@hankgreen.bsky.social @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social Would you guys ever consider putting vlogbrothers/hankschannel videos on a non youtube place, mainly because your videos are basically the last ones on youtube I actually care about and could mostly leave google if they were elsewhere
sometimes you just get a really cool looking video at an edm show and need to share it
that feeling when you find another tool that lets you move another part of your workflow into the terminal, so much power
Logged on after skiing, and immediately decided to log off, we truly are just living in a horrible timeline
What if instead we all worked one year less and actually enjoyed more of our lives. Productivity does not equal happiness
Dr. Oz: "If we can get the average person to work one more year in their whole lifetime -- just stay in your workplace for one more year -- that is worth about $3 trillion to the US GDP. That's the productivity we would unleash ... if you're sick, you can't work."
@katie.bzky.team as you likely have an opinion, I am debating getting rid of my TV with in upcoming move, thoughts
They really just don't want us to be happy or comfortable. I love flying in my leggings and sweater, and sitting in the lounge.
The Department of Travel launched an airport civility campaign in November that included a call for travelers to dress up. Are they doing it?
Just finished my 31st book of the year, feels nice to finally be back to reading (May get to 32 by the 31st)
Fuck xfinity for doubling my crappy internet bill on thanksgiving, can't fucking wait for one of the fiber companies to actually get to my apartment complex.
Our problem is that we only have 2 parties, who ultimately stand for nothing except for being political parties. If everyone is included in this tent then no one is included. Parties need to stand for something, the correct answer would be to have more than 2 parties or no parties at all
Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.
Got a lovely photo of the Aurora over Boulder tonight, a drone did kind of ruin the perfect shot but also not going to edit it out for now as it was part of it Taken with a Sonya7r5, and a 16-35GM 2.8 lens
Now that I have had my last Red Rocks #edm show of the year time to rank them 1. Rezz: My happy place 2. Apashe: I mean orchestra plus EDM, what else do I need 3. Illenium: Do I really need to say anything 4. Deadmau5: best lighting by far 5. Lane 8: Not my usual but the no phones was amazing
Finally able to bike on my commuter bike comfortably, so nice to be able to do quick trips to coffee shop or lunch without needing my car
I think I have successfully retrained my brain to not crave my phone through removing all social media from it. To the point I regularly forget where it is or leave it at home, and don't miss it at all (and yes this is being posted from my laptop not phone as bsky is not on it)
www.404media.co/a16z-is-fund... How do any of these startups make anyone lives actually better? I got into ML/AI research a decade ago to make the world better.

Do you want ‘AI-powered social orbits,’ ‘autonomous recruiting firms,’ and an ‘AI-powered credit card?’ Too bad, you’re getting them anyway.
